This is a list of websites I stumbled on throughout the project. A general description of the following might be - websites that make my life simpler through their clarity or make my life better through their inspiration:

Alastair Humphreys This guy bicycled around the world and is a personal hero. He's now doin movtivational speaking You, Me and Dupree-style.
Now Entering Two young dudes goin around the US interviewing other young people getting their views on the world and making a movie about it. So far they've found an 'overriding optimism' for the project.
TYAP Four young dudes want to see the US and do something a bit productive as well by making a movie... a bit of inspiration maybe for others. A quote from the site, 'this is a more focused generation than I think they are given credit for by their elders... what I'm finding is so many of them are thinking about the world.'
Jeff Porten Jeff is a super smart computer guy, but his real passion is voicing his opinions on global issues. Right on man.
Amanda Congdon Blog of the better half of Rocketboom.
Rocketboom Online newscasting program launched in 2004. A glimpse into the future news broadcasting.
Ze Frank Internet TV hitting on current events with the bias and style of Ze Frank.
Ashes and Snow A documentary, book, photo display and nomadic museum displaying Mr Colbert's year spent in silence. Brilliant display of modern art.
Shantaram Greg David Roberts tells the first part of a three part series of his amazing life. Shantaram focuses on his life in Bombay working as a slum-doctor, weapons smuggler and counterfitter for the local Mafia, as well as the events leading into his personal philosophy he titles 'cosmosophy.'
Delaying the Real World Colleen Linder author's a book about the reasons and opportunities to travel and find work around the world. The website has a forum to speak and ask questions.
Elsewhere Graham Reid, a writer for the travel section for the New Zealand Herald, writes and shares photos of his travels around the world.
One Red Paperclip Kyle MacDonald started with one red paperclip and used Craigslist to up his asset. On July 12, 2006, he completed the project when he closed on a house.
The Ordinary Fear of God Russell Crowe's band. This character happened to be in Wellington and was kind enough to include me his entourage for a night. Genuine soul man no doubt.
Dancing Matt This guy travelled around a bit, doin a jig everywhere he went. Scored a deal with Stride who financed him throughout the trip. Ahh, using the Internet and some creativity wit to fulfill a dream. Beautiful baby.
Tha Wookie Tha Wookie is his trail name. He's hiked all over the US and is an amazing photographer. Very impressive website layout.
Ryan Connelly Ryan is a good friend from Atlanta who helps out with computer stuff every so often. Made a cutsy website for he and his wife. Looks great man, the site's nice too.
Million Dollar Homepage A young English bloke who found probably the fastest way to become a millionaire - just shy of two months.
Yann Facchin Yann is my buddy who tagged along for the first month of the cycle trip. He's making a documentary about backpackers around New Zealand and Australia.
Zoltan Istvan This guy's a writer for Cruising World. When he was 16 years old, he sailed across the Pacific on a 24' boat. An independent journalist whose been published in National Geographic, Outside Magazine, among others. He inspired me when I was at my computer in college.
Long way Round Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman make their way around the world on motorcycles. The series sparked some inspiration for the whole idea of the cycle trip.
Reid Reid is still working in Alaska fishing and plans to maybe do some teaching around the world over the next few years. He was anoyher early inspiration for me.
Bumfuzzle This couple circumnavigating with a big cat. They've been featured on National Geographic channel. They post all of their finances and logs online for ease of inspiration and absorbtion. Yes, another Internet inspiration score.

Trademe.co.nz NZ's version of Ebay. Where Proud Mary was purcharsed for $35.
Pedellers Paradise Great cycling book. Gives only terrain maps and general distances... leaves plenty to the imagination.
